New Purple.2 – Is 8/10 on our firmness scale. The difference being one is foam constructed while the other one has individually wrapped coil steel springs. The brand offers four different firmness options, although Original Purple and New Purple 4 have a similar comfort level. I enjoyed the support, and comfort I received thanks to these layers. The coils are supported by 2 thin layers of Polyurethane foam at the top and bottom. Since they are individually wrapped, they have no noise with zero motion transfer. In place of the Polyurethane foam, it has a layer of individually wrapped recycled steel coil springs.
The New mattresses have a different design. It’s 4” thick, also high density but is firm. The second, and which is the base layer is designed to provide the needed support. It improves the level of comfort and acts as a transition between the top and base layers. The first layer is 3.5” thick high density foam, with excellent response and is soft. The Base Layers: The base or support layer consists of 2 layers of Polyurethane Foam. The varying thicknesses each give a specific comfort feel. New Purple 2, 3 and 4 have a 2”, 3” and 4” thickness respectively. New models have a different thickness for comfort grid layer. It’s unique with amazing benefits to the sleeper. The top layer is what sets it apart from other brands. It adapts to the body creating even weight distribution. Like memory foam, it gives excellent pressure relief.I enjoyed proper spinal alignment and support.I felt no movements while on the mattress because it has zero motion transfer.An open grid design that’s temperature neutral, and improves airflow to keep you cool.The Smart Comfort Grid layer: It is 2” thick and the top layer is made from a Hyper-elastic polymer. The cover, Premium StretchMax, has excellent breathability encouraging airflow and therefore letting you sleep cool. Although it’s still knit fabric, it’s a blend of Polyester and a little bit of spandex. The New beds have a slightly different cover. It offers sufficient airflow thus keeps you cool. It’s a soft, stretchable knit fabric with excellent breathability. The Cover: It’s a blend of Lycra, Polyester, and Viscose. New Purple 2, 3, and 4 on the other hand, vary in thickness of the No pressure™ layer, resulting in each offering specific comfort feel. The Original mattress is slightly different in build from the others. Every aspect has a unique feature to enhance the level of comfort and support that you get. I had a fantastic time reviewing its interior, rating materials and quality at 9.5/10. The hype it receives is definitely worth it because it’s impressive. ‘Purple’ is no longer just synonymous with color but also a brand. Purple has a unique design that you don’t find with other beds. The review isn’t complete without an in-depth look at the mattress construction. Those wishing for a firmer or plush feel may want to look for other options offered by the brand. You desire a firm or plush comfort feel: It has a universal, medium-firm comfort feel.The support may not be sufficient enough. You’re sharing: The support weakens as you move to the sides, which may pose a challenge if you’re sharing and are more than 200 lbs.You don’t love the foam feel: The Hyper-elastic polymer and the polyurethane foam layers offer a foam feel, which spring or latex lovers may not fancy.

From the many reviews that I’ve done in the past, only a handful of beds have succeeded in giving the pressure relief, comfort and support like it. Their range of mattresses offer a pleasant experience and one that many have grown to love. The Purple brand is one that’s made its mark in the sleep industry.
